Lockdown 2.0 Day 18

Regent’s Canal provides a link from the Grand Union Canal at Little Venice to the Thames River at Limehouse Basin. Today’s weather was perfect for a 9 mile wander along the canal with one of my friends Bruce, a fount of interesting, thought-provoking and sometimes pointless knowledge. The most memorable fact of the day was that the unique sounding diesel engine in the canal boat in the first image, is a Bolinder - remembered mainly because it reminds me of Bollinger, my favourite Champagne.

Afterthought

I resolved to keep a visual diary during England’s second lockdown which started on 5 November and is set to finish on 2 December. It is almost impossible to discern from these images that we are a country in lockdown, and that we should stay at home unless we have a reasonable excuse.

Today’s reasonable excuse - number 3 of 29: “To “take exercise outside”, either alone, with members of your household or support/childcare bubble, or with one person from another household. Under this exemption, there must just be two of you in total - though kids under 5 don’t count towards the limit.”
